Huawei is getting ready to launch the most recent iteration of its Mate smartphone series in China. Like the Mate 50 series from the previous year’s replacement, the Huawei Mate 60 series is expected to make its debut as soon as possible. It is anticipated that it will make its debut in the country the month after next. There were a number of leaks and rumors floating around the internet about the Huawei Mate 60 before the device was even officially released, and these revealed key pieces of information. Weibo, a website dedicated to microblogging, has recently been the subject of a series of photos that purport to show the upcoming smartphone as it will appear in real users’ hands.
The hands-on photo that was leaked online shows that the Huawei Mate 60 has a back panel with two different colors. It seems as though the top half is made of frosted white glass, while the bottom half is constructed out of some kind of grey metal. The device has a protrusion in the shape of a circular camera island, and there are three cutouts on it; one of them appears to be a periscope lens.
It appears that wireless charging is supported, based on the presence of a charging coil that can be seen in another disassembled hands-on photo of the Huawei Mate 60. The images that were stolen do not reveal any additional information about the smartphone other than what is stated above.
According to leaks and rumors, the Huawei Mate 60 will reportedly have a pill-shaped cutout on the front of the device that will be referred to as “Spirit Island.” It is said that Apple’s dynamic island, which is available on the iPhone 14 Pro models, is comparable to it.

However, the software implementation that could make use of the island is still a mystery at this point. It is anticipated that the display on the smartphone will be an OLED panel measuring 6.7 inches in diagonal and sporting a resolution of 1.5K pixels. According to DCS, the main camera on the device is expected to have a resolution of 50 megapixels and be equipped with the XMAGE technology developed by the company.
